Kirol Metodologi LAB Is Born: A Methodological Revolution from Getxo to the World
Yesterday, January 8, 2026, the TikiToki complex in Fadura, Getxo, was the setting for a historic milestone in sport: the official inauguration of the Kirol Metodologi LAB (KML). Located on the first floor of the new TikiToki Zentroa building, this laboratory is born with a global ambition: to become the “Google” of sports methodology, serving as a pioneering space for the development, analysis, and application of advanced sports knowledge.
What exactly is the Kirol Metodologi LAB?
The Kirol Metodologi LAB (or Sport Methodology Lab) is the first center of its kind, promoted by Getxo Kirolak in collaboration with the Basque Government and technologically developed by Kimet Sport. It is not just a workspace, but a multidisciplinary ecosystem where technologists, health experts, marketing professionals, and performance specialists work together to:
- Democratize excellence: Enable any club (from grassroots to elite) to design and develop its own methodology using professional tools.
- Centralize knowledge: Provide a comprehensive 360º platform for talent management and training.
- Professionalize structures: Help organizations optimize not only their sporting performance, but also their organizational and financial management.
The inauguration: Leadership and a vision for the future
The ceremony at TikiToki Zentroa brought together the local sports community and key figures behind the project. During the event, two key interventions stood out:
- Amaia Aguirre (Mayor of Getxo): Emphasized that with the KML, “sport in Getxo is placed at the forefront of management, strengthening our clubs to face the challenges of the present and the future.”
- Álvaro González (Sports Councillor): Highlighted that the LAB was created “not to impose models, but to help build them,” with the ultimate goal that athletes enjoy “a clear, structured, and coherent learning pathway, adapted to each stage of development.”
- Gari Fullaondo (CEO of Kimet Sport and head of the KML): Defined the project’s vision as the meeting point where “any sports organization worldwide that wants to develop its own methodology can find its reference here.”
Fadura: The beating heart of sports innovation
This initiative consolidates the transformation of Fadura into an international benchmark sports park. The Kirol Metodologi LAB seeks not only sporting impact, but also social and economic impact on the municipality, attracting talent and generating a management model that can be exported anywhere in the world.
With this step, methodology ceases to be an abstract concept and becomes a driver of real, measurable, and accessible improvement for everyone.
